WOOD MATERIAL AND THICKNESS
Durability is an important factor for hashi. We would like you to enjoy our hashi for a very long time. The wood used is hard wood that has been dried for at least one year, then over 3 month after cut into a piece before carving.
Wood material can be chosen from variety of woods for custom made hashi, such as ebony, ironwood, ziricote, zebrawood, cherryblossom and Noto conifer (hiba). For Craft Master Selection, ebony has been selected by the craftsmaster, because of its high durability and its just-the-right-weight should fit most of the customers.
Thickness can be selected from 8mm (0.31in) to 12mm (0.47in), in the increment of 1mm (0.04in) for the custom made hashi. Craft Master Selection uses 9mm (0.35in) which should be a great fit for most users. If you are new to special made hashi, crafts master recommends the 9mm.
