City of Wajima

WE CAREFULLY SELECTED THE BEST

Our journey was to search for the best Japanese chopsticks, "Hashi", that can fit the hands of Japanese food lovers in US.  It took us more than a year and finally we have found the one. Hashi crafted by Tebashiya in Wajima.

In Japanese restaurants, we have seen many Americans having some trouble using chopsticks, even when holding them correctly. This becomes a distraction to enjoy chef's artistic dishes. Why? We believe the chopsticks offered by the restaurant is not the right fit for the hand. We thought, by offering chopsticks that fits, you can maximize your experience of Japanese food without any distraction.

There are hundreds of producers in Japan, from small shops to mass production factories. But we wanted a craftsman that follows the traditional craftsmanship. We wanted the best wood and best "Urushi" lacquere. We wanted 100% organic materials to assure safety to our customers. We wanted selections and custom made options in order to fit any customer's hand perfectly. And overall, we wanted a craftsman that cares and puts customers first. We found him. Koyama-san of Tebashiya.

Tebashiya is in city of Wajima, in Ishikawa prefecture. As many of you may already know, Wajima is famous for their high quality Japanese lacqureware for centries. The Wajima-Nuri.
