CARE

NOT Dishwasher Safe

Urushi lacquerware cannot be washed using dishwashers. Urushi is an organic anti-germ substance that has been used for hundreds of years, which is much older than the history of dishwashers. Usually a gentle flow of water will clean the chopsticks completely. If you had greasy food, you may need to give a swipe with a soft dish sponge with soap but not any more than that. Urushi is antibacterial.

If you accidentally put it into the dishwasher, do not worry. It is crafted to outstand several times of dishwasher cycles. But please avoid using dishwashers intensionally.

After many uses ("many" meaning thousands of times), the urushi lacquer may fade. Don't worry. Our craft master can re-lacquer your chopsticks. Just contact us.

Note of Allergies

Although it is very rare, there could be a case of allergic reactions becuase urushi is organic. After using the chopsticks, if your lips become itchy or if you see rashes on your lips, please stop using the chopsticks immediately and please consult your doctor right away.
